Events & Meetings

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

Important Meeting you are all invited:

The Alliance of Brunswick County Property Owner Associations (ABCPOA) invites you to attend the 2010 Brunswick County Meet the Candidates Night at 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 11. The forum will be held in the Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick County Community College. This semi-annual event is being co-sponsored by the Brunswick, North Brunswick and Southport-Oak Island Chambers of Commerce, State Port Pilot, Star News, Sun News, Brunswick Beacon, ATMC and Brunswick Community College.

This year the moderator will be Scott Harrell, Publisher of the Brunswick Beacon. Representative Mike McIntyre and challenger Ilario Pantano will be there along with candidates for the State House, Senate and District Attorney. Questions can be submitted to the ABCPOA in advance and there will be an opportunity for questions from the audience.

This is the third time the ABCPOA has sponsored a Meet the Candidates event; the previous events were well attended and extremely informative. You are encouraged to attend this session and learn more about the candidates we will be electing in November to represent us at various levels of government for the next few years.

If you have questions about this important event or if you have questions you would like to ask any of the candidates, contact representatives to the Alliance, Ron Sorice, rsorice@atmc.net or Mike Loyack, mgloyack@atmc.net.

Monthly Meeting
Next Meeting Tuesday; September 14, 2010

Our meetings will be at the GOP Building
at 971 Old Ocean Highway, Bolivia.

The agenda is yet to be set, but we plan on having demonstrations on how to negotiate our web site and explanations of several of the enhancements put in place and contemplated.

We also will have speakers discuss and explain the different areas where volunteers will be able to help in getting out the vote, poll watching and helping out at campaigns.

On the date of this upcoming meeting there will be less than 50 days to election day.  The time to make a difference is getting short.

                    NOVEMBER IS COMING!!!!

We are always looking for guest speakers and working on agendas and programs. Have some ideas send us a email and we will discuss.

Our speaker at the August 10th meeting was Dr. Troy Kickler who discussed the history of North Carolina prior to and during the war for independence.

Time is short till the November elections and we cannot stress enough the importance of this election cycle and there is no need to rehash the history leading up to this election.  T
his is it.  The home stretch.  We have a great deal of work yet and at times the work may be tough.  But if we don't get it done and stop this Administration and Congress, we will have only ourselves to blame for allowing the greatest nation known to man, to fade from existence. The future is in jeopardy for our children and grandchildren.  More information will follow.
